The NCMEC - National Center for Missing and Exploited Children was created in the United States in 1984 in order to assist parents whose children are missing and make families, security personnel, teachers and the community in general aware of this problem. So far, NCMEC has achieved 93% efficiency in its task. |

In 1998 the Red Solidaria (Solidarity Net) began to receive calls from parents with missing children asking for help to find them. In view of the increase of such requests and the seriousness of the situation, it was decided to create the department of “Missing Children”. |

In 1999, the ICMEC - International Center for Missing and Exploited Children was created as well in the United States with the aim of supporting every country requesting assistance to start a similar project. |

In the late 1999, the ICMEC International Center contacted the Red Solidaria and suggested organizing a similar association in Argentina, to which they would provide support, experience and technology. |

The Red Solidaria accepted the proposal and created a Non-profitable Civil Organization called “Missing Children – Argentina” made up by a group of volunteers. |
